I picked up a souvenir t-shirt when I was in Cabo San Lucas, because it said “No Bad Days”, Then I brought that philosophy home with me and put it to work. Every day, when I wake up, I tell myself “I REFUSE to have a bad day!” No,I am not naive, nor unrealistic, as I know I can have a “bad moment”. I’ve been known to get myself caught up in a “bad conversation.” and every once in a while I have suffered a “bad outcome.”
The most important lesson I can share with you about this topic is that these are truly just short periods of time where things didn’t quite turn out as expected. There is a lesson to be learned from our situation and it’s critical to quickly figure out what went wrong and learn from it. Then we need to cut ourselves some slack! We are all doing the best we can with what we have.
Remember that situations in life are cyclical, and tomorrow is a new day. But why wait until tomorrow? RIGHT NOW is a new moment, so pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on! Instead of the old “one day at a time” theory, let’s agree to make it “one moment at a time” and refuse to let whatever happened ruin our entire day.
Then, when you hear someone say “I’m having a bad day”, you can think to yourself, “No, you are choosing to have a bad day.”
